They said to Jesus, “Rabbi” (which translated means Teacher), “where are you staying?” 39Jesus said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where he was staying, and they remained with him that day. John 1: 38-39
OK, I agree that many Lutherans aren’t great at sharing our faith and inviting people to know Christ and the community that forms in his name. There are some good reasons for that, considering the sad history of Christians proselytizing and judging others. You can sometimes hear that stuff going on at the West Mall. On the other hand, if we have experienced even a tiny bit of God’s grace in Christ, won’t we want to share that goodness with others?
Regardless, Jesus invites us to “Come and see,” to know and explore his presence in everyday life, and especially in Word and Sacrament. We welcome you back and hope you can join us this semester.
